Characters and Setting

I have mostly picked out the characters for my book, which i have decided will be a beast fable (satire 101). The main character (protagonist) will be a cute little piggy and the antagonist will be a coyote. I don't want to give away to much but i can say that the little piggy will teach the coyote life lessons that he has never leaned; the characters will be drawn by hand every page and i have google each animal to get an idea of what i want each one to looks like. However i am not very good at drawing, I'm more of a 3D art kind of person, like ceramics and sculptures, so that will be a struggle for me but my best friend is amazing at 2D art and she said she would be happy to help me getting started with the book.

Major Fail

Last week was a totally failure. The outfits I tried to make we're not turning out and when I tried to move on to make about her outfit something would go wrong with that. I have changed my project and decided to make a storybook teaching children the rights and wrongs of life such as, lying and cheating vs. telling the truth. It will be a short story that I can read to the class and on presentation day I will have a hard cover copy of it and I'm going to make a plot and characters this week and hopefully in two weeks I will have most of the story written.

Sewing

Before starting the outfits I have to learn ho to sew! so last week my mom tried to teach me how to sew with my hand and needle but she got so frustrated and gave up so she signed me up for a sewing class at Michaels. At first it was very frustrating but after about 30 minutes I got the hang of it it was actually kind of relaxing for a little! I'm very excited to start my first outfit and see how it turns out. I'm just a little nervous that it's not going to turn out how I designed it or picture it turning out.

Project runway!

Well I have already made one outfit for my runway, it is composed of plastic bags for a skirt and bow and a regular white t-shirt. As I was putting the skirt together with sewing needles I kept pricking my fingers so i had to take a break. The skirt alone probably took me about three hours and was made for a little girl about the age of eight since my sister volunteered to model the outfit for me during the final presentation runway.
I am in the process of making another another outfit which will be a dress formed by putting together empty cereal boxes on top of each other. The problem that I'm running into with this one is I don't think I will be able to sew it together and I'm not sure glueing all of the boxes together will look flattering for the dress on the model.
